Skoota 32 Power catamaran demountable version – an introduction
We are currently developing a new version of the Skoota 32. One that will demount for transport. More details will follow over the coming weeks.
The simplest way to imagine it is to think of it as a motorised Gypsy, but with increased loading capacity. The big cockpit is ideal for those who also want to fish. Various other interior layouts are feasible providing the main crossbeams and bulkheads are not moved. Engines up to twin 70hp can be used for speeds in the mid20's
The hulls are slightly narrower than the standard Skoota 32, so will fit on a trailer side by side. The cuddy is also under 2.5m wide (8ft) so can also be easily transported. Both hulls will fit in a standard 40ft container, the cuddy/cockpit/beams etc will fit in a high top container
The hulls are designed for building in foam sandwich, but the cabin, cockpit, beams etc can be in plywood or foam sandwich
