For example, after narrowing the choice down we suggest you purchase a "study plan" for each boat you are interested in. These generally comprise two large drawing sheets (A1 size). The first will be a scale general arrangement drawing and the second a sample sheet from the building plans.

Materials Lists, and sample photos of boats sailing or building plus any owners comments and other useful information are on each design page. However I have many more photos of most boats, so, if you wish to see more on a particular detail of a specific boat, please let me know and I'll try to help you.

I recently revamped my website and moved all the photos and materials lists that were in the studyplans onto the main website. I think I corrected all the zip files, but it maybe that the link to photos etc in the studyplan pack does not work. No matter, because you have already seen all there was in the link. So you are not missing anything.

If you are still not convinced and you'd like to know more about the boats before actually paying the full amount for the plans we offer a "Partial Plan" set. This is much cheaper than the full plans but even so comprises a full set of plans except for the lines plan.

So you can't actually build a boat, but you can get a complete picture of what is involved in building one. Later you can buy the upgrade plans to convert to full building plans. Please contact us by email for further details and costs of the partial plan set that interests you.

These partial plan sets are also very useful if you buy a used boat and need to know how it was built.

Please note:  Partial plans are not available for the beach cats, dinghies or Strike trimarans. Studyplans for the Strike trimarans, Chat 18, Saylon, Salish, Saturn, Transit, Vardo and the Skoota range are available free of charge on the relevant design page. There are no studyplans for the dinghies or beachcats.
